The photoresist is a passive circuit element whose resistance varies depending on the intensity of the light reaching it.
In general, photoresistances are of low power and have resistors ranging from a few kΩ to light to resistors of the order of M Ω in the dark.
The module has two LEDs, one for power and the other for output from the comparator. In this configuration, the circuit detects if the light exceeds a certain threshold.
